$This phenomenon consisting of a bright circle around the Sun is known as a halo or antelia. It mainly occurs in colder places. However, as long as the right conditions for its formation are presented, it can occur in other places. This halo is formed by ice particles that are suspended in the highest part of the troposphere. When sunlight hits these ice particles, they refract the light making the entire spectrum of colors (similar to that of a rainbow) visible around the Sun. We could call it as a circular rainbow characterized mainly by being iridescent.$
